What to wear to a mid-October wedding? My son is getting married in Key West mid-October (2023). The ceremony is on the rooftop of a restaurant. The bride is wearing a wedding dress and my son will be dressed more casual…like a button down and casual slacks. What do I wear?
A mid-October wedding in Key West sounds very festive. The weather is warm in Key West 78 – 85 degrees. Something in a light weight silk, cotton or linen that flatters your figure type would be good.
Since your son is dressing in a casual style, I would choose something classic in style like a sheath dress. Linen or silk pants or skirt with a dressy blouse and good looking jewelry would be stylish also. Ask the bride to be what the wedding colors are and you can look for something in one of her wedding colors.
Classic closed toe pumps with a low heel will be comfortable to stand in for long periods of time and you can wear them with or without stockings.
Keep in mind that something in a classic style will always look great in wedding photos 10 years from now. Also you want to draw attention upward instead of to your feet area. A great hairstyle, flattering makeup and good looking jewelry will bring focus to your face.
