What color & style of kurta would go with a multi colored dupatta?

What color & style of kurta would go with a multi colored dupatta?I am not familiar with Indian clothing styles. However a multi color dupatta (shawl, scarf) would work best with a simple style, solid color outfit (kurta) that is a color in the multi color dupatta. For example if your dupatta is red, yellow, blue & green, a kurta in one of those colors would look good.

A kurta (or sometimes kurti, for women) is a loose collarless shirt worn in many regions of South Asia, and now also worn around the world. (Wiki)

A dupatta a length of material worn as a scarf or head covering, typically with a salwar, by women from South Asia.

The Sari Every Indian Woman’s Classic
A sari is a garment of Asian women that consists of several yards of lightweight cloth draped with one end  forming a skirt and the other a head or shoulder covering. The Indian sari is versatile, comfortable and colorfully expresses elegance and femininity.  The sari is made from a single strip of cloth, approximately six yards, which is then draped over the body in a variety of styles.

Women of Southern India
I just returned from a month in Southern India. In general women seem to wear more traditional clothing such as the sari and pants with over dresses/tunics in the South. Many of the sari dresses sparkle with a lot of glitter and gold on them day and / or night. Indian women have many more opportunities today and seem to be living full lives. In the large cities, such as Mumbai, there are many Indian women traveling, women tourist guides, students and working women. However not a lot of Indian women in Western clothing were evident. From time to time you see a younger person wearing denim jeans.
