What should I wear to a Fellowship/Scholarship Selection weekend?

What should I wear to a Fellowship/Scholarship Selection weekend? What should I wear to a Fellowship/Scholarship Selection weekend? This event is at a northern Ivy League Univ in late February. Business attire or cocktail attire is suggested for a dinner. I am 22 & a college student in sunny South Florida. My field is Earth Science, so my dress code is shorts & tanks or jeans & flannel. HELP!

Congratulations on being invited to attend a Fellowship Selection event. You definitely want to leave your shorts and tanks in Florida when heading North in late February. Since business or cocktail attire is suggested for the dinner you can wear a little black dress (LBD) with sheer black stockings and black closed toe pumps or black closed toe sling back heels. If you want to wear pants to the dinner look for black pants in a style that flatters your figure type and wear them with a silk shirt style blouse. Add some simple jewelry for some excitement. For daytime wear pants and sweaters or blouses. Keep it simple.

Time to Dress for A Job Interview
Time to dress for the job interview. You have managed to get through several phone interviews and you are meeting a prospective employer in person.  How you look and what you wear are soooo important. The first impression you make has to be good if you want to get that job. Obviously they are interested in you since you have managed to secure an in person interview.

Dressing for Evening Business Events
Evening business events after work are usually a little more dressy than daytime office attire. Dress on the conservative side (forget sparkly and shiny) since you will be judged by others. Your presentation might mean getting or not getting a promotion. You want to look poised and that you have good judgement at every business event.
