Statement trench coats were key pieces in many designer collections this season: Valentino ,Celine, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Galliano, Maison Margiela and Chloe. The NEW statement trench coats had fashion elements such as bold colors, puffed sleeves, new fabrics such as, brocades, plaids, prints and metallic. While other styles had  unusual buttons (sparkly) or corset waists.

If you own a classic trench you may want to add a statement trench. They are a good investment and a practical style coat to own. If you want to add a statement trench to your wardrobe think of a more relaxed style, a different fabric, color (avoid khaki) or length and  /or unusual buttons or belts.

Classic trench coats are indispensable for all fashion divas. A trench coat is one of the most important items that every woman can have in her wardrobe. It is usually a khaki color, double-breasted raincoat (waterproof) with deep pockets, wide belt, and often straps on the shoulder, some having a removable lining. They can be short or long and easily dressed up or down. Two British brands that come to mind when you think of classic trench coats are Burberry and Aquascutum.
