Can I wear flats to my son’s wedding?

Can I wear flats to my son’s wedding? I am the mother of the groom in an upcoming wedding. I am 64 years old, 5\’9\” and in pretty good shape (tall and thin).  I have two long evening gowns (dresses touch the floor).  One is burgundy and one is navy. I am taller than my husband and haven\’t worn heals in years. I want to dance at the reception so I would also be much more comfortable in flats.  I also would like to wear silver jewelry. I am planning to wear champagne shoes and clutch  or silver shoes and clutch.

Flats should be great with either of your dresses, for your son’s wedding. Your shoes will not show much with either of your floor length dresses. You can dance the night away in flats and be comfortable too. Silver shoes are more festive than champagne color flats and are a great alternative to heels. A silver bag and silver jewelry will be chic with your MOG outfit.

What is a flattering hair length for women over 40?
So many of my clients have posed the question “What is a flattering hair length for women over 40?” My answer is that it is relative to the individual’s face shape, body proportions and individual style. Really, the same rules apply at any age, the difference being that what worked at 30 may or may not work at 50 or 60, depending on how much these things have changed.

Evening Bags 101
Traditionally women have worn evening bags to dressy events. They are perfect for cocktail parties, dances, weddings, formal, or black tie occasions. An evening bag is also appropriate when you go to a nice restaurant for dinner, the theatre, symphony, ballet and opera. However they are just as chic with a pair of jeans.
