What trend will lift your look?

What trend will lift your look?

Lift your look to new heights with a pair of platforms. Platform shoes are back and are comfortable and with more stability.

Ferragamo and Roger Vivier introduced modern platforms in the ’60’s and ’70’s. And this fall designers such as Saint Laurent, Prada and Versace showed them on their fall runways.

Platforms take pressure off of the ball of the foot and some new styles have square toes making them comfortable to walk in. Heels on the new platforms are thicker giving them more stability than single-sole stilettos.

All things in moderation including platforms. Wearing too high platforms can cause accidents such as twisting an ankle. Suzanne Levine MD, NY Podiatric surgeon, suggests a max heel of 4 inches and a max platform of 2 inches if worn daily.

Rock your platforms with everything you wear. They lift your style with classic styles, pants, tights, leggings dresses and skirts.

Statement Shoes: Platforms
Statement shoes: platforms! Some platform shoe styles can add 4 or 5 inches to your height (or more?). Agreed looking taller and slender is appealing, and quite a few of us can benefit from adding a few inches to our legs. However, blurred by our long leg dream, the platforms have taken over our common sense. Perched on unstable blocks, we stomp the street unfortunately failing to realize how ungracefully we move.

Are platform style shoes in or out of fashion?

Platform style shoes are “in” style! Platform shoes are classic if the proportions and silhouette are good. They give height to females that are short, short-legged, or heavy. Heels are flattering and say power, feminine and sexy. Of course the right support is crucial for comfort and wearability. Avoid styles if the platform is too big or the heel is too thin. Always think quality when purchasing shoes you want to wear often. Buy the best you can afford.

Tip: Add edge to a classic outfit by pairing platform shoes with socks or platform ankle boots
