Laura Dern was born 52 years ago on February 10, 1967 in Los Angeles, California. She had Hollywood parents and her grandfather, George Dern, who was a former Utah governor and Secretary of War. Laura Dern has received five Golden Globe Awards and a Primetime Emmy Award, and nominations for three Academy Awards.



Laura Dern’s parents, Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern, were divorced when she was young and she was raised by her mother and grandmother. She appeared in several films with her mother when she was in her teens. After several days of college she was offered a role in the movie Blue Velvet, regarded as her breakthrough performance, and she dropped out of college to pursue an acting career. Laura was married to Ben Harper in 2005 and divorced in 2013. They have two children.
Laura Dern is in two Oscar-nominated movies: as the kind-hearted mother of the March sisters in “Little Women” and as a divorce lawyer in “Marriage Story.” She won a Golden Globe for “Marriage Story” in 2019.
