Warm Weather Cruise Wear Report

Warm Weather Cruise Wear Report
Cruise Wear Report

Warm sea breezes on a cruise will be enjoyed more if you have the right light-weight outfits! There are a number of approaches to consider when going on a cruise ship today. Some women love to dress up every evening and bring a number of outfits. Some, like myself, prefer to bring as little as possible when traveling, but put together good looking outfits each night that are stylish. A third group of travelers wear their daytime clothes in the evening and hit the sack early.

Women wear shorts but calf length cotton pants are very popular during days in the Caribbean and/ or tropical islands. Loose tops such as tunics, tank tops (if you dare), and light weight cottons are very comfortable in humid warm weather. Cotton dresses and skirts are more options. A hat, sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a sweater (for air conditioned spaces on the ship) complete the daytime cruise outfits.

For the swingers on the cruise, who love to dance the night away, loose shifts, jumpsuits, separates or a dress that moves on the dance floor will work. Some ladies love having a variety of evening wear on a cruise. Separates, ankle pants or calf length pants with tops such as halters, off the shoulder styles or strapless are fabulous for the party scene. Dance shoes are a must and a wrap or cardigan sweater can be handy!

Practical packing includes outfits with one common neutral color navy, beige or black and then a variety of colorful tops, which work for day and evening. Choose fabrics that you can wash out and dry easily, if possible. Costume jewelry and scarves add style and personality to your persona.

Prepare to send some tops to the laundry to avoid bringing too much stuff. It is a good idea to count the days you will be traveling and writing down what you will wear on each day and evening. Then you will have the correct number of outfits.

Tip: To avoid looking larger in the hip area do not wear tops that end across your rear end in a different color than your bottoms (pants).  If you are overweight, go for monochromatic color schemes and wear statement jewelry that draws attention to your face and surround area. Bon voyage!

Packing for a Caribbean Cruise
A Caribbean cruise  is a chance to relax in style and get some rays. A cruise is a chance to pick out vacation clothes, and a great  excuse to go shopping. You have to get new clothes to feel great on your trip right? Here are my recommendations for what to include on your Caribbean cruise or a tropical destination.

What should I pack for a vacation in Sarasota, Florida in March?
Sarasota, Florida has an average temperature in the high 70’s during the day and the high 50’s in the evening during March. Keep in mind what activities you will be engaged in while visiting Sarasota. Bring clothing to wear for those activities. Light weight clothing, pants/jeans any lengths with tops, that flatter you, or comfortable dresses for daytime are perfect. For evening a dress or pants with appropriate accessories will work in Sarasota, Florida. Bring a lightweight wrap, jacket and/or sweater for evening. Don’t forget the basics like beach wear hat, shades and sunscreen!
