Are flares in style?

Flares, also known as bell-bottoms and boot-cut style pants and jeans, are the latest trend for 2022. Newer styles are fabricated with more advanced, hi-tech fabrics. Flares have a flattering silhouette and look great on most gals. Shorter divas should wear narrower bottom flares but taller girls can go for wider flare pant bottoms.

When the pant legs cover shoes flares elongate your look. Hems should skim the ground. Sneakers, heels, block heels and snug boots work well with flares. Pair them with a  blazer for the office or silk top for an evening out.

What style of women’s dress pants & jeans are in vogue?
Dress pants and jeans in every style are “in vogue”. Bootcut, flare, wide leg, skinny and straight leg styles are all in style today as long as they are flattering on you. Designers are promoting high waist, straight leg pants this year but most women are continuing to wear slim pants. Wide legged pants look fabulous if you are tall, but don’t work on short females. If you are “hippy” slim style ankle pants won’t look good on you. Wide bottomed / flare pants are best on hippy women because they balance their hips. Most fashion trends are being dictated by modern women (not designers) who are into casual and comfortable clothes that make them look awesome. For example search any retailer website and search “women’s pants” you will see a variety of pant styles to choose from. When choosing any fashion to wear you need to know your body type in order to know what is flattering on you. Chic women ignore trends and wear clothes that make them look great!

What style of pants flatter large hips?
Large hips give women a bottom-heavy look. They draw focus to the hip area. Straight-leg pants and pants with wide bottoms are very flattering on this figure type. Also, boot cut pants or jeans that have a slight flare below the knees will balance wide hips and look great on “hippie” ladies. Dark color pants or dark color jeans will give you a slimmer look than light color pants. Avoid any details around the hip area or front pockets. The goal is to draw attention away from your hips by wearing tops with attention around the neckline, attractive jewelry around your face area, or a beautiful scarf. Tip: Avoid prints and patterned pants and tight and tapered pants or jeans. That will make your hips look larger.
