What can I wear for a daytime speaker event?
What can I wear for a daytime speaker event? I’m 66 years old woman, 5 ft, 5 in, weight with a few extra lbs..size 12. I don’t want to over dress but would like a finished look. Attendees will be a mixed group (ages, sexes, lifestyles, etc)
Congratulations for being asked to present at a daytime speaking event. Your height is great so you sound like you have a great figure. A colorful (solid color) sheath dress, around knee-length would be attractive with classic heels. Color implies a youthful and energetic attitude. A colored dress that is flattering with your skintone and hair color would be awesome and give you a finished look. Avoid black since it is a daytime event. You want the focus of attention to be on your face. You can draw attention upward to your head area with an attractive neckline, jewelry or a colorful scarf around your neck. Pay attention to your hairstyle and wear flattering makeup.

Power Work Clothes
Tailored style clothing that flatters your figure type is the way to go. Solid colors that look good with your skintone and prints are good as long as the styles you wear are simple. For example Marissa Meyer, CEO, of Yahoo has been seen wearing simple print dresses that fall around her knees. Take cues from successful women in positions of power and your work environment. A colorful or print blouse worn with a tailored suit also looks great.
Power Scarves for Professional Women
There is nothing better or more luxurious in the scarf category than a Hermès silk scarf. This accessory (at least one) is a must have in the professional woman’s wardrobe. These scarves have beautiful designs and can add color to a basic suit or dress that says power and authority in a quiet way.
