What shoes with a navy & cranberry color dress?

What shoes with a navy & cranberry color dress? Hoping to wear a patterned dark navy silk dress with cranberry as primary secondary color? What kind of shoes do you recommend?  Its to a formal dinner and dance (not wedding) but invite states cocktail attire.

A navy and cranberry color dress would look great with cranberry color shoes and a navy clutch bag. Also silver/pewter metallic shoes and matching purse or navy purse would look festive. Another thought would be black patent leather shoes and matching bag would look chic.

If you prefer closed toe shoes sling backs are more dressy than pumps. If you want to wear dressy sandals with heels wear black sheer stockings and black sandals or go without hose if you have great legs or your dress is floor length..
