Ikat is a way of weaving that is similar to the tie-dye process. The threads are dyed before they are woven into cloth. These fabrics are worn in Indonesia and are popular with designers from time to time. They are gaining in popularity now and will continue to be stronger. Ikat prints can be challenging to wear because of their boldness but they can ramp up any outfit if in an accessory.
