What are carwash pleats?
Carwash pleats are sophisticated and chic. They are strips of fabric not sewn together in a skirt or dress. If you have gone through a car wash, they have strips of rubber that hit the car to clean it. A dress or skirt with carwash pleats has strips of fabric for the skirt that look like the rubber straps used to clean cars in a carwash, thus the name. Designers Dior, Oscar de la Renta, Tommy Hilfiger, Thakoon and Wes Gordon all included the silhouette in their Fall collections. A must have skirt trend for fall.
