What Should the Wedding Guest Wear?
Wedding Guest, Think Festive!
A wedding guest should wear something stylish! Weddings are to celebrate, occasions to dress up. The wedding invitation provides the information to help you decide what to wear. Daytime (morning and afternoon) weddings are more casual than evening or formal weddings. Today any color is appropriate with the exception of white which is reserved for the bride.
For daytime weddings a knee-length dress or skirt suit or a dressy pants outfit is appropriate. Any dress that is above mid-thigh is not in good taste, and way too short.
For evening or black tie weddings floor length or cocktail dresses or dressy pants and top outfits look stylish. Today cocktail dresses are considered more modern than long dresses for black tie weddings.
As far as accessories, don’t go over the top with jewelry. Shoes that you can dance in or stand on your feet in for several hours are the best choice. They don’t have to be frumpy. A dressy pump or slingback style shoe with mid high heels in suede, patent leather or metallic looks like party time. Handbags should be small. A smart clutch, just big enough for your essentials is perfect.
Tip: Never wear anything too tight, too short or too low-cut.

Dress Styles for Summer Wedding Guests
Summer dress styles can be loose or more tailored. Wear with low heel shoes, block heel sandals or flats. Dresses look best when they are knee-length or longer. Style a dress with a soft cardigan sweater and classic jewelry. Loose style dresses hide the tummy and/or lumps and bumps.
