I came across wearable sculpture and Amy several years ago at her Flying Color Studios. Amy was participating in an Open Studio event in Sebastopol, California. She designs and custom makes fabulous hats and fascinators that add personal style to anything that you wear. Amy uses quality materials, usually straw for Spring / Summer, and felt – (either new or recycled vintage) – for Fall / Winter. She blocks the material on antique blocks and usually finishes her creations by hand, adding beads, feathers and other embellishments.

Not only have Amy’s sculptures been worn at weddings, bar mitzvahs, birthdays, graduations, dog walking, and Burning Man, her designs have been worn in theater, film, music and television productions.

Amy says most of her hats are designed to be worn any way you want –but with attitude! I could not resist one of her fasinators several years ago but succumbed this summer for another one. A plus for fascinators is that they work for everyone – one size fits all! Plus her creations are one of a kind.
