Shirts for work or shirts that are part of a work uniform might need to be worn in a specific way. However, shirts with slits on each side of the hem can be worn tucked inside or worn outside a waistband. Shirts that are wide at the hem might be too bulky to tuck into your waistband. Try your shirt on both ways, if you have a choice, to see if it looks better tucked inside or outside your skirt or pants. Wear it the way that is most flattering on you.
