Is there a type of waist shaper that does not transfer all to the lower tummy? I have a rectangular shape, 42 band,40 waist,42 hips and a bit of a long torso. I do not expect an hourglass just a little definition.

A waist shaper that gives your waist a definition and does not transfer extra inches to the lower tummy would most likely be a waist shaper that begins just under your boobs and goes lower than your stomach. There are many styles and comfort levels available. Check out a few different brands in the lingerie department of your favorite store(s).

Since you have a rectangular shape invest in styles of clothes that give your waist a definition without shape wear. For example: wrap tops or V neck tops to draw attention to the center of your body, tops with wide set straps, boatneck and off the shoulder necklines are some ideas. Tops with puff sleeves are also flattering. Pair a stylish top with flared leg pants or A line skirts.
