What can I wear to street fairs & festivals to stay comfortable in the heat? I prefer not showing too much skin.
Street fairs and festivals are so much fun in the summer. Not only can you shop for arts & crafts, clothing, organic goodies etc. but you can people watch all at the same time. However walking around in hot weather can be brutal. Cool clothing made from lighter weight cotton or linen are the most comfortable options. Longer length shorts, midi- length skirts, calf length pants with coordinating tops are all options. Light weight loose dresses with sleeves are another way to go such as caftans or shirtwaist style dresses. Some longer beach cover ups and casual maxi dresses have sleeves and are stylish in hot weather. Style a tank top with a sheer cotton shirt and wear with pants, shorts or a skirt or throw a thin shirt over a sun dress. Wear a wide brimmed hat to protect from the sun.
