Can I wear a strapless dress to a business function?

A strapless dress is not appropriate for business functions. Business means business! Dressing for any business event calls for a more covered up look. You are always being evaluated by the “boss” and your office peers. It is better to impress with your expertise than your fashion and style knowledge. One exception might be if you are in the business of fashion. There are plenty of good-looking dresses and separates that are in good taste and attractive to wear to a business function.  Keep in mind nothing too short, too low, or too tight is appropriate. For a more polished look wear ultra sheer stockings with closed toe pump or closed toe slingback style shoes to evening business events. A strapless dress shows too much skin to be appropriate. Unfortunately when it comes to business attire anything goes these days but that does mean it is correct or in good taste.
