Season of the Shoe
Shoe Trends
It is the season of the shoe. There seems to be a move away from the platform shoe and stiletto heels this Fall. The fashion forward and early adopter divas will be dancing the night away in evening sneakers with cocktail dresses or evening gowns and wearing pointy toe oxford flats with slouchy pants and loose dresses.
Mid- height or midi heels are gaining momentum for chic women. Midi heels are generally 2″ – 3 1/2″ high and more comfortable and practical than ultra high spike heels. Midi heels can be thick or thin and preferred by many professional women (rainmakers) on the go. Midi heels can be stacked, blocked or kitten style and look stylish with a great pair of trousers, jeans or skirts. They look especially chic with the midi skirts that are hot this fall.
Other popular footwear styles this season are booties, ankle boots, smoking flats, Mary Janes and strappy sandals with embellishments. And of course boots are a wardrobe staple.

2014 Fall Fashion Trends – First Report
OMG it’s already time to deal with fall fashion trends! On travels to cities around the world women are dressing in casual and comfortable clothing. Footwear is the perfect example. Gone are stilettos. Women are favoring low heel shoes, sneakers, running shoes, midi heels and kitten heels. 2” – 3 ½” heels are very popular among professional women who are demanding comfort. Low heel shoes look great with trousers, jeans or skirts. Heels that extend from the very back of the shoe or square heels are the more flattering styles.
Packs and Sneaks
Two of the hottest accessory trends are packs and sneaks. This Fall Nike, Adidas, New Balance, and Reebok (to name a few) have been stylishly ordained “chic” along with their partners in crime the backpack. Why you might ask? I’d like to say it is based on pure function and simplicity but of course it isn’t. Long gone are the days where running shoes are simply for just that- running! Ha Haaa! Oh no wait minute let’s scratch that perhaps they are for running and maybe even function. Wouldn’t every fashion muse want to prance around town looking devilishly cool? Inspiring the not so fashion person to say-where’d she get that and I want one too. The bottom line packs and sneaks aren’t just for back to school…let’s just say they are back to cool.
