What shoes or boots can I wear with a blue & white, plaid skirt?

What shoes or boots can I wear with a blue & white, plaid skirt? The skirt is a wool, light blue and white plaid. It goes to just above my knees. I would like to wear it to work. I am stumped on what shoes / boots to wear. White is out, as are sandals. I live in Michigan and it is starting to get cold.

Your plaid skirt sounds very stylish. You have a number of shoe style options. Closed toe, lower heel styles would look great with an above the knee skirt for the office/ work environment. Some ideas are kitten style heels, ankle shoes, ankle boots or flats. As far as colors go, a neutral color such as bone /nude/ tan, pewter or black patent leather shoes would look great. Pair your shoes with a matching color handbag. You can wear your skirt with a white top such as a sweater, blouse or turtleneck. Ultra, ultra sheer stockings would look good with this outfit and keep you warm in Michigan.
