What to pack for Rio? Going to the Olympics for 10 days.
Rio and the Olympics will be awesome. It is winter in Rio in August, making it one of the most comfortable months to visit. Temperatures usually average around 65 -75 degrees Fahrenheitin August with little if any rain. The natives dress very casual and you want to blend in with them. During the day cotton pants such as capris or jeans with a variety of tops that you can wash out and that will dry fast are perfect for the games. Bring comfortable sandals, sneakers and flip-flops to wear with different outfits. A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are always required. If you plan to spend a few hours at the hotel pool or beach a bathing suit and cover up are musts. For evening a summer dress or pants with sandals or heels will work for fancy restaurants or nightclubs. A crossbody bag that you can fit your essentials in is a smart style bag to carry day or evening. Your evening bag can be a smaller style that you can wear when dining or dancing. Leave all valuables at home. Rio is a city where crime has been a problem so stay safe. Enjoy the trip!

Travel Jewelry Essentials
Travel jewelry does not take up a lot of space in your luggage but will allow you to add style and variety to your travel clothing. The #1 rule when picking out jewelry to bring with you on vacation or a business trip is never, never bring anything valuable or that has a sentimental attachment. In other words leave everything at home that you would not like to lose. It is easy to leave behind small items in your hotel room when traveling, especially when changing many locations. Also, beautiful and / or valuable jewelry may be stolen.
