Melania’s Fashions on Official Asia Trip
Melania departed DC for Hawaii then a trip to Asia
in a gorgeous elegant but simple blue dress with matching colored shoes.
On their way to Asia Melania and President Trump stopped at Pearl Harbor
to pay their respects to the fallen Sailors and Marines and laid a wreath at the USS Arizona Memorial.
After arriving in Japan Mrs. Trump wore a gorgeous red, traditional floor-length gown
as she attended a state banquet in Tokyo on Monday night.
While in Tokyo Melania visited Mrs. Akie Abe, wife of the Japanese Prime Minister, at the Mikimoto Ginza Main Store in Tokyo. “Mikimoto’s founder, Kokichi Mikimoto, is said to have invented cultured pearls in 1893. The shop in Ginza opened in 1899. The company is the official provider of jewelry to Japan’s Imperial family.” The visit included an explanation by the store manager of different types of pearls and how they are gathered and assembled into jewelry. She also visited an elementary school to learn about Japanese calligraphy.
Melania opted for simple, elegant and sedate skirts and coats for meetings with Japanese officials, including with Emperor Akihito and his wife Empress Michiko.
Melania arrived in South Korea wearing a sculptural mauve coat dress.
She wore the coat to meet with Kim Jung-sook, South Korea’s First Lady and wife of President Moon Jae-in.
For a dinner in South Korea Melania wore a black and silver dress.
