Should knee highs or socks be worn with ankle pants?

Knee highs, socks or no stockings/nothing are all “in style” with ankle pants. Where you are headed in your ankle pants, your style (edgy or more conservative) and the weather are three things to consider when deciding if you wear knee highs, socks or nothing at all.

In the summer when it’s warm or hot it is comfortable to go without socks, knee highs or stockings. In the winter when the weather is cold and you want to stay warm. Then it is nice to wear, legwear, something on your feet with shoes to be comfortable.

Very dressy occasions call for sheer or thin knee highs with ankle pants. However if you are interested in an edgy or trendy look ankle socks will be “cool” with ankle pants.
