Jane Fraser, President of Citi Bank

Jane was born in 1967 in St. Andrews, Scotland. She is married with two sons.
Jane has a master’s degree in economics from Cambridge University. After she graduated at 20, she worked at Goldman Sachs in London as an M&A analyst. Next, she took a brokerage job in Madrid (brokerage associate for Asesores Bursátiles, a Madrid-based securities broker). Jane then spent two years earning an MBA at Harvard Business School. Afterward, Fraser took a consulting position with McKinsey.
Jane spent ten years at McKinsey and made Partner. After having her first son, she worked part-time while raising her two young sons. In a LinkedIn interview, she expressed that having a whole life makes a person a better leader and/or professional.
As Jane’s sons came of school age, she joined Citibank in 2004 as a fulltime employee. She has held a number of important International positions at Citi, working in a number of countries. Her husband, Alberto Piedra, a native of Cuba, left his banking job in 2008 to spend more time caring for their young children.
In February 2021, Jane Fraser will become the first woman chief executive to lead a major financial institution (Citibank). Currently, she is in charge of Citibank’s biggest global division, the Consumer Bank.
