A few holiday essentials are a must for parties at work or with friends at this time of year. Some ideas for your holiday wardrobe that can give your outfits some drama are sequins or other sparkles, shimmery velvets, faux fur and bold animal prints. Maybe you have something in your closet now that you can ramp up for holiday parties without spending a dime.

Velvet Blazer

Shimmery velvet. Velvet is so luxurious and feels so good. A velvet blazer is an easy way to spruce up your casual clothes, or if worn over a work outfit it will take you to drinks and dinner after work. Pair a red blazer with one of your favorite power dresses, white shirts, a pencil skirt, black pants or jeans and wear with some sparkly jewelry.

Faux fur. Faux fur is becoming more and more fashionable. There are more colors, patterns and styles available than ever before to choose from. Faux furs are warm, versatile and can be worn with casual clothes or with a gown on New Years Eve. A colorful coat or jacket adds a festive look and can add a POP of color to your outfit.

Bold animal prints. We love bold animal prints. If you don’t have any in your closet this holiday season is a great time to splurge and get one. Animal prints are now considered wardrobe staples and are good investments. An animal print, scarf, purse, shoes or belt is a good way to start. You can also get many wears from an animal print dress, blouse, skirt or pants.
