What should a Flapper wear for Halloween?
What should a Flapper wear for Halloween? I have been invited to a Halloween party and would like to go as a Flapper from the 1920’s. What should I wear?
A Flapper was considered a wild woman in the 1920’s. A Flapper loved to wear bold makeup, previously worn only by loose women. She dropped her corset, wore short skirts (just below the knee) and loose-fitting shift style dresses with dropped waistlines for freedom of movement. She bobbed her hair and embraced a lifestyle that was considered racy. Look for a shift style dress, any color will do. Then add some appropriate accessories such as a long pearl necklace, headband with ornament or small hat, gloves, boa, and / or fishnet stockings. A cigarette holder is optional.

Why not turn your LBD (Little Black dress) into a Halloween Costume. Be an Audrey Hepburn, a witch, vampire or a cat. It is the accessories and makeup that will pull your costume together. Of course you can add touches of orange, black and silver accessories for a truly awesome look and black nail polish for the final touch. Take advantage of youtube videos for really bold makeup and costume ideas.
