Can I wear sneakers to a semi-formal debut party?

Can I wear sneakers to a semi-formal debut party? I was invited to a semi formal debut party. No theme was given, only we are advised not to wear pink. I am planning to wear a black coat with a plain white shirt and black trousers, with white sneakers. Is this a good choice? I am 175 cm (5′ 7″) tall, brown skin, 70 kg (154), black hair.
