Have beauty routines been influenced by Covid-19?
Less Is More!!!
Since Covid-19 women are using less makeup. “Less is more” is the trend in 2020 for beauty products and clothing. Women’s beauty routines are focusing on skincare and wellness products. Women are prioritizing how they feel over how they look. With sheltering in place and spending the majority of their time at home, we are finding makeup is not necessary or as important as it was prior to the virus.
Lipstick is difficult when wearing masks. It gets on the mask and can get smeared on you; so many women are going without lipstick. It has become more accepting to see women not wearing makeup. Stronger makeup categories since the lock-down are beauty products that focus on eyes ( lashes and brows). Eyes are what are seen and women want them to attract attention.
Focus on Eyes
Women have begun to pay more attention to what they put on their skin. Beauty is now much simpler. Science led beauty brands and brands with natural ingredients (that are non-toxics) are increasingly more important. Scientific evidence appears to support avoiding ingredients in your personal care products such as MI/MCI, fragrance mix and formaldehyde.
Natural beauty looks were already popular but with this pandemic well-hydrated skin and using the right products to
enhance a natural glow have gained in importance. Buy less but buy better!!!
