What would be a good coat or wrap to wear for a wedding weekend? I am attending a wedding in New York that will be outdoors if weather permits in October.

A light weight coat such as a boiled wool, a classic trench coat or sweater coat are perfect for an October weekend in New York.

Trench coats go with everything and are perfect for rain or shine. With a zip out lining it will be comfortable if the weather gets cold. Wear it for daytime and evening events.

If you want something dressy to wear for the wedding and reception (weather permitting) you can bring a velvet jacket or pashmina to wear.
