Can I wear gray, floral patterned tights with a gray wrap dress? It is for a business dinner at a country club, cocktail attire is suggested. I bought some pretty gray floral patterned tights to liven up the dress, but after reading many of your answers I’m wondering if I should go with black sheer hose. The dress is long sleeved & I’m going to also add color with blue & silver jewelry.

Your gray dress sounds perfect for a business dinner event. Since cocktail attire is suggested, sheer nude or black stockings/tights with black sling back or black pump style shoes would be a better choice than gray floral tights with your gray dress.

Cocktail attire says “semi formal” and business dinner says “conservative”. Floral tights are more informal than sheer stockings/hose and will draw attention to you legs. Silver and blue jewelry (one statement piece) will draw attention to you instead of your legs and add some color and style to your outfit.
