What can I wear to a dinner / ceremony in NYC?

For a semi formal or black tie dinner / ceremony event, in NYC, a cocktail dress will be appropriate. If it is a formal event a long dress can be worn. (Some folks will be in cocktail attire.) When in doubt a “Little Black Dress” (LBD) will always look chic. With a simple style dress wear a statement necklace (or statement earrings). If you wear a glitzy dress (sequins) you can wear simple jewelry. Carry an evening bag or clutch bag.
