What should I wear to a brunch? I have been invited to a brunch the day after a summer wedding in Newport Rhode Island at a Yacht Club.

A brunch after a wedding is usually held for family and out-of-town guests. It is a time to thank out-of-town guests for their travel and catch up with friends. Brunch after a wedding at a Yacht Club calls for country club casual. Choose an outfit that is flattering on you such as a summer dress, pants and top or shirt style blouse and wear with strappy sandals or flats. Florals and stripe prints, white and pastel colors are all summery. Find out if there is a dress code at the Club.  A couple of outfit ideas would be: 1) white pants or skirt with a striped top 2) floral sundress, slip dress or 3) pastel, linen bermuda shorts and silk top.

A rehearsal dinner at an estate in the Hamptons sounds awesome. You can check with the hostess of the event to see if there is a dress code. A summer party in the Hamptons can be casual or dressy. Usually dinners are more dressy than daytime affairs.  A maxi dress or jumpsuit would work for a casual or dressy rehearsal dinner. For a semi-formal event a cocktail dress in a color or black will be appropriate. If the party is casual a summer dress or separates such as a shorts outfit would be in good taste. A floral or colored outfit would be summery. Check the weather forecast for the day /evening of the event. Usually the Hamptons are warm on summer evenings so you will want to wear something cool and comfortable and bring a wrap.
