Bobs and lobs are the most popular on-trend hairstyles for fall 2018. A bob is a short haircut that is around jaw level above shoulders. Lobs are longer and can fall just above or just below the shoulders. There are a number of bobs and lob variations that tend to be low maintenance wash and go styles that are great for the busy gal.

Favorite styles this fall have center parts and wispy or choppy bangs. Types of bobs are:

• A-line bobs: Slightly longer hair in front that frames the face, usually curling under the chin.
• Buzz-cut bobs: Shoulder-length in the front and close-cropped at the back.
• Chin-length bobs: The cut is straight to the chin, with or without bangs.
• Inverted bobs or graduated bobs: Like A-line bobs, but having stacked layers in the back. The perimeter of the cut is curved rather a straight line.
• Shaggy bobs: A messy bob layered with a razor.
• Shingle bobs:Tapered very short in the back, showing the hairline at the neck. Sides are formed into a single curls or points on each cheek.
• Shoulder-length bobs or lobs: Longer hair that reaches above or below the shoulders and has very few layers.

Hair stylists say that lobs can be worn by women no matter what their face shape is. Just keep in mind short girls don’t usually look fab with longer length hair styles. The trendy bob can be worn with most face shapes. Bobs  can be styled in a number of ways. Thin, long faces, look good with a shorter clean lined bob with straight angles. Longer bobs are more flattering on rounder faces. Short women look best with shorter hair styles and women in general look younger with shorter hair styles. Discuss getting a bob or lob with your stylist and don’t go for a trendy hair style if it does not flatter you.
