Can I wear black tights or nude stockings with black patent pumps? I’m wearing a navy blue, lace, knee-length dress to my step daughter’s wedding in November. I’m 59 & hate the veins on my legs & the way my ankles swell.

Thin black tights or sheer black pantyhose will look elegant with your outfit. There are many different shades of black hosiery. Sheer black pantyhose may be thinner than black tights and you can’t see through them. Sheer black stockings /pantyhose may be more comfortable than tights.  Nude color stockings can also be worn with black patent pumps but black stockings will look better if your ankles swell. Your navy blue lace dress sounds very festive for your step daughter’s wedding.
