Can I wear a mini skirt or shorts with a black kimono to a wedding?

A black kimono can be lovely worn with a skirt, shorts or pants if it is styled right. However shorts are not appropriate for weddings in my opinion. A black kimono would look best with pants or skirt for a wedding celebration. A pencil style skirt, no more than 3″ above the knees, would be more appropriate than a mini skirt at a wedding. If you wear a black skirt or black pants with a black kimono wear some interesting jewelry or some color for a chic look. Adding interesting accessories is a way to create a personal style to your outfit.
