What should I wear bike riding?

What can I wear bike riding? What should I wear bike riding? Since Covid-19 I have been doing more bike riding for fun, exercise and to get around.

If you are not into bike racing, functional and chic are what’s important. Pants/jeans that are cropped or narrow legged are great. Any length shorts or your favorite denim cut-offs are favorites with bike riders. Other options are cycling shorts/bike shorts (with stretch for freedom of movement and padded crotch liners). Any style tops work with pants, jeans or shorts but bicycling jerseys help draw moisture from your skin giving you a comfortable riding experience. Rompers and dresses or skirts that reach near your knees are other options.

“Sport” style shoes can act like cycling shoes but Mary Janes are cool with dresses. Shoes or sandals that won’t slip off are other choices. If you wear socks, choose synthetic materials (such as polyester or nylon blends). They will  help wick away perspiration and avoid sore feet and blisters.

Some styling options are: pairing a sundress with low-top sneakers, wearing a dress or skirt over pants, jeans or shorts look cool with a t-shirt or oversized top. To add style to any outfit, try a vest, evening jacket, blazer, PJ top or vintage shirt. Top your outfit off with a metallic helmet for protection as well as looking more chic!

Are there hats with UPF 50 to protect?
There are a number of chic hats that provide UPF 50 (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) protection. If you need another hat it makes sense to purchase a hat with UPF 50 for protection from the sun’s harmful rays that helps prevent skin cancer and aging. A UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 percent of the sun’s rays reducing your exposure risk significantly. Dermatologists recommend wide-brimmed hats to cover up your face, neck and ears. When selecting a hat, choose one that has a wide brim.  Baseball hats or straw hats with holes are not as effective in protecting you outdoors. Summer is the time to add some extra glam to a summer outfit with a wide brimmed hat.
